16 November 2009 / I love to tell the story!

This week we're going to be thinking about the curriculum Harris calls kerygma, and in doing so our focus situation is a little different. Rather than a narrative, I'm going to post here a series of video clips (depending on the speed of your connection, that page may take a while to download). Each one represents the Bible in some way. As you work through the cluster questions, your group should think about yourselves as learners in the midst of a culture which gives you these representations of the Bible. So consider the learning situation the exercise of watching the clips, and consider yourselves the learners.

One quick note: viewing these assigned video clips is best done only with adults, and often provokes a lot of feelings. In your small groups you might want to take some time early in the cycle simply to process the feelings evoked by the exercise.

The other individual work includes making sure that you've started your portfolio, and in particular, have at least done the basic self assessment on competencies. This week is also a good time to download the piece from Feautor that you want to review, and to start thinking about what you're going to contribute to Feautor.

By Friday, fill out the mid class personal evaluation form and email it to me
